TOTE WIN £4.40 PL £1.60, £3.70, £6.50; Ex £73.50; CSF £58.30 ANALYSIS: A comfortable win on his first start over fences for MASTER OFTHE CHASE, who was adding to previous successes in a bumper, a maiden hurdle and a Flat race. He was travelling well when sent to the front after three out and, although a bit untidy atthe final fence, he won well. He will go for a novice event at next month's Listowel Festival and, according to his trainer, is a horse who needs his races spaced out. Laoch Dubh, twice placed from seven previous attempts over fences, produced another sound performance. Soon clear, he was headed by the winner three out, but he rallied under pressure and kept on without seriously troubling the winner. Good Old Days, who was pulled up on his chasing debut before falling on his second start, should have had his confidence restored by this effort, He was always close up, but was unable to raise his effort after three out. Stick The Lowman, a winner over hurdles and just beaten at Clonmel on his debut over fences, was soon a moderate second and was unable to make much of an impression. Blanc C'est Blanc, twice a winner over hurdles, was making his chasing debut. He lost his place at halfway and, after improving before the second-last, he could find no extra. He will do better in time. Glenhaven Nugget, a useful hurdler two years ago, was making his chasing debut following a lengthy absence. Unfortunately, he broke down and was pulled up. Dr Julian, a three-time winner over hurdles and having only his second start over fences, was in touch when he fell five out. |
