The Grade 1 Swordlestown Cup proved an exiting affair between Tiutchev and Frozen Groom.
Tiutchev, the impressive winner of the Arkle at Cheltenham, won well here but had to work hard before getting the better of Frozen Groom who would have given the winner much more to di but for hitting the third last fence.
Tiutchev and Frozen Groom were well clear of the rest of the field before the second last and it was only on the run in that Tiutchev stayed on well to win by 6 length from Frozen Groom.
Trainer Nicky Henderson who had pondered long and hard before risking his rising young star on this ground, said "That he may not have been as sharp as he was for Cheltenham but he won with his ears pricked. It looks as if we have a Queen Mother Champion Chaser in the making".
