Soviet Star achieved his eigth individual Group 1 winner today when the Ballylinch Stud bred and sold four year old filly Eva's Request owned by Liam Mulryan and trained by Mick Channon won the Group 1 Shadwell Premio Lydia Tesion at Capanelle in Italy.

Soviet Star's son Buccellati added a Grade 1 placing in the Pattison Canadian International to his progressive racing career last night for trainer Andrew Balding and young jockey William Buick.

04/09/09 Turkish Delight for Soviet Star

Soviet Star enjoyed a notable big race double at the Turkish International meeting. On Wednesday the Ballylinch Stud bred filly Eva’s Request won the Listed Istanbul Trophy for trainer Mick Channon and owner Liam Mulryan, adding to her Group 3 and Listed wins this season.  Yesterday Pressing won the Group 2 Topkapi Trophy for trainer Michael Jarvis and owner Gary Tanaka, this was his seventh Group win and his third this season from four starts.

Pressing (ex Rafif by Riverman) won his second Group 1 race today when winning the Grosser Dallmayr-Pries over 2000m at Munchen for owner Gary Tanaka and trainer Michael Jarvis.
