Dual Group 1 winner Fascinating Rock
Multiple Group 1 winner Fascinating Rock has been retired to stand at Ballylinch Stud in Co Kilkenny.
Ballylinch managing director John O’Connor said: “We are delighted that owner/breeder Maurice Regan of Newtown Anner Stud will partner with Ballylinch to develop Fascinating Rock’s stud career, and both will hold a sizeable interest in him with the remaining shares being syndicated among breeders.”
Fascinating Rock, the highest rated son of top international sire Fastnet Rock, was a most impressive winner of both the Qipco Champion Stakes and Tattersalls Gold Cup, on both occasions beating the outstanding filly Found. He won sevem stakes races during his career.
His trainer Dermot Weld said: "Fascinating Rock was an outstanding horse to train. He defeated the best horses in the world from Postponed to Found. A good stakes winner over a mile, he had the ability to carry that speed to win two Group 1 races over 10 furlongs. Great conformation, size and scope and a lovely temperament.”
His owner Maurice Regan added: "I really love Fascinating Rock and will be putting all my efforts into supporting him both at stud and at the sales. I am really looking forward to racing his progeny.”
Fascinating Rock will stand at a fee of €10,000, October 1st terms.
